Our main mission at Haynes Acupuncture on the Gold Coast is to restore all patients to full health, whether that is physically, mentally or emotionally.

The clinic offers a treatment of the whole person, taking the time to establish the cause of certain problems or uncertainties, then developing a step by step plan to help you.

This month for a little fun we asked owner, practitioner, and Gold Coast Acupuncturist, David Haynes a few questions about his journey and life in general! We hope you have enjoy getting to know David a little better!

How often do you play sports?
I go kitesurfing each time the wind is up and when I can.
Are you an early or late sleeper?
Early, we have a 2.5 year old so a sleep in is 6am for us!

What do you wish you knew more about?
Everything, I love learning and want to learn about everything.

What’s the best way to start the day?
Taking my son and dog for a walk with my wife and coming back to a healthy nutritious breaky.

Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?
South America 3 years ago, and walking the Inca Trail. The people, the place, the culture is amazing.
What city would you most like to live in?
Gold Coast, what more could you want, beach, bush and water. Perfect.

What are some small things that make your day better?
Coffee, I definitely love coffee. One in the morning and then one after lunch, I love the feeling.

Why did you decide to do the work you are doing now?
I wanted to help people, and through a different system than the bio-medical model. I could see lots of people getting little results for their symptoms.

Where do you usually go when you have time off?
Overseas, but because that is out at the moment, we love camping at the beach or bush.

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
Study, I always think ‘man, if I didn’t sleep I would get so much study done’.

What book impacted you the most?
The web that has no weaver. It was an introduction into acupuncture and sparked all of my interest to this day.

What irrational fear do you have?
Spiders, I hate spiders.

What is one or two of your favourite smells?
The smell of gumtree’s flowering, it reminds me of riding my bike to school as a child.

What do you spend the most time thinking about?
Super nerdy, but Chinese Herbal Medicine. It takes up so much time in my head!

What bends your mind every time you think about it?
Metaphysics, I love it! I should have really studied that; your head can get down so many rabbit holes.
