Traditional Chinese Medicine is at the core of our practice, following the customs and traditions that have stemed from the thousands of years of medicine of Ancient China.

For Haynes Acupuncture here on the Gold Coast, understanding and delving into Ancient Chinese culture helps inform the way in which we treat and care for our patients. Therefore, it only makes sense to recognise the Chinese New Year and what it will bring into 2022.

2022 is the Year of the Tiger

People born in the years of 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010 and 2022 were born into the year of the Tiger. They are considered to have the traits of being brave, competitive, unpredictable and confident. They are free natured people and have a strong sense of justice.

The Chinese New Year also consider the 5 elements that co-exist with the zodiacs, those being: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth. This year it is the year of the Water Tiger. A Water Tiger often has a strong sense of self-esteem and learning ability.

What does the Water Tiger predict for 2022?

With the year of the Water Tiger there is good fortune found in relationships with friends, family and love interests.

In terms of career, the year of the Water Tiger indicates that individuals will be successful and flourish in their work with hard work and determination.

While tigers are impulsive nature and can sometimes cause them to bite off more than they can chew, it is important to take care of your health during 2022 and place a high importance on maintaining wellness.

Tigers are energetic and have great enthusiasm at work. When they feel exhausted after working for long hours, they need some relaxation to refresh themselves. As water is the element of the tiger and water is the mother of wood, take care to by connecting to the earth and bringing grounding qi (energy) to daily life which controls the emotion of water.

For tigers doing too much doing/activity has the tendency to stress the kidney system.   Swimming can be especially beneficial. Also, increasing spiritual activities like meditation, yoga, qigong, etc., to nourish the spirit, flow with the changes, and tune into the wisdom within. The balance of lively exercise and calm reflection enables you to navigate tiger’s energy.

Don’t forget to make acupuncture part of the year of the toger and get in for some treatments to fortify your own inner-tiger vitality and get the most out of 2022! Rawr!
